Rabbani Foundation

Rabbani Foundation of Indonesia is a registered non-profit foundation set up in 2006 to help street children. Most of them live alone on the street, which makes them very vulnerable to crime. A UN Report on Street Children stated that street children need greater help and protection, and how the international community still has not observed their rights.

Rabbani Foundation of Indonesia is focusing our program on Character Building to help street children get away from drugs, terrorism, and anarchism. Currently we are taking care of about 500 street children. We provide shelter, food, give them skills, training, education and funding to help them set up small business so that they can lead a normal live, earn a decent living and be self reliant.

1.      We provide shelter and food 3 times a day.

 

2.      Education is our priority.                 

         

         We firmly believe that good education inspires people to shape and build a better future. And we definitely believe that children     

         from poor families & orphan can also achieve success when given support and opportunity.  Currently we have our own homeschool 

         program for street children. We have also provided scholarship for 300 children going to formal primary school and highschool .

         Our long term plan is to build formal school for street children and their children.

3.       Music studio              

 

          A lot of the street children are street musicians and they have great talent in  music. We help them with music lessons  such as vocal,                drum, violin, guitar, and keyboard lessons. They have shown great progress. Although our Music Studio is far from proper to provide for            a better music education and needs, now they are able to compose beautiful songs and music scoring. Many of them now                 

          are becoming regular performer musicians at small cafes and performing music at weddings reception.     

 

4.    Training and developing skills                  

 

          We have handicrafts workshop, sewing  lessons, repair workshop of electronic devices such as laptop, smartphones & tab, we also                    provide martial art lessons (Aikido).          

 

5.    Providing Food to those in needs

 

       We deliver food once a week to the scavenger’s camp  (people who collect discarded items.)

6.    Rehabilitation                

 

       We help the street children with Character Building so they are not alienated anymore and can be part of the social community again.

       We are very proud of our children. Hundreds of them have taken formal education, some have become professional

       musicians, handicraftsmen, carpenters, Aikido Instructors, set up small or micro businesses such as personal computer & electronic                 gadget repair shop, small laundry service, setting food stall, selling vegetables & fishes. As we are taking care of more street children,

       we really need support from those who care to help us with the operational cost, scholarship, and infrastructure  (Shelter and the                       classroom). We would appreciate very much donations granted to our Foundation : Rabbani Foundation of Indonesia.
